This book is very good for the beginning programmer. It explains things very slowly with good examples that build on previous chapter material. The index is excellent for finding a specific topic.

Seems to be a really great text! I did FORTRAN, COBAL, BASIC... yeeeears ago and it seems like everyone has finally settled on C++
as THE language to do current stuff in. The publisher has a great
site with chapter summaries, example quizes...

Maybe you can save some $'s on the 2nd/3rd edition but I think the author did an outstanding job with this book. The pace is excellent for new-to-programming people and I think the depth would be great
for the seasoned C++ progrmmer. Really a great book!

I was a little suspicious about ordering items online. But I am glad that I did. The process was easy and the material came pretty fast. The book I purchase was in very good shape. I will be ordering again.

This book is required for Regis University's CS361 and CS362 coursework. I appreciate the layout of the book, along with the books ability to be used in a modular fashion. The writing is concise, makes sense, and appeals to beginning programmers. An 'A' so far!
