Helm does a really great job of explaining the child-directed nature of the Project Approach. She shows how to make the process come alive inside as well as outside of the classroom. I would recommend this to instructors as a text for students in an Early Chilhood Curricula or a Methods and Materials class. Students really got to experience how the Project Approach in teaching helps young children choose the trajectory of what they want to learn. Children can take their learning to creative places, of which early chilhood teachers might not even dream! |
