'I've always been a girls' girl. And I know from experience that making the very best of yourself is something any woman can do. I was never the six-foot-tall pin-up. I've always been the girl-next-door who got lucky. I've come a long way in the last ten years, but this book isn't my attempt to tell you what or what not to do. It's just to share some of what I've learned.' In That Extra Half an Inch, a tongue-in-cheek reference to her love of high heels, Beckham shares her tips for finding your own style including: - Learning how to dress for special occasions
- Shopping for everyday wear and where to look for it
- Accessories: defining the looks that work best for you
- Helpful hints for the holidays
- Making the most of your wardrobe
- How to feel confident and look great every time you leave the house
That Extra Half an Inch is a beautiful, nothing-but-the truth, easy-to-use book on fashion, beauty and style. Victoria shares her personal style secrets so whether you're getting ready for work, a night out on the town or even doing the school run, you too can feel confident and look great every time you step out of the front door. Fun and Flirty Extra Half an Inch... | Customer Rating: | This is a fun and light book to read. For anyone who's a little behind in the fashion know how to..., this book will help you. It's funny and witty and what you take away from it is that fashion is for everyone not matter what age, size or bank account you have. | Brilliance in a Book... | Customer Rating: | | Love it. As a fashion lover myself i seriously believe Victoria has got it band on with this one... Loads of great tips and beautiful photography. Love this book. Another one of my favorite collection is How to Snag a Guy and Keep Him Hooked: 99 Ways to Make Him Ache for You Both books are a must read for women who love fashion and men! | Spot On | Customer Rating: | | Great tips, great photos, and Victoria relates to people who can't and don't always buy designer stuff. I love that she lists the best stores for products, which is always helpful - and they vary in price range, for affordability at every level. I'll use it as a reference guide for jeans and black tie affairs! | Not the book I thought It was going to be | Customer Rating: | | I was under the impression that this book was going to be a guide to dressing yourself to look your best. I was dead wrong. It started out by saying that you don't have to have a lot of money to be classy and I agree whole-heartedly. But then she completely contradicts herself the rest of the book. She name-drops pretty much every high-end designer you could think of. It's a blatant advertisement for her denim line. It is also the most repetitive piece of "literature" I have ever read. Every subject she talks about she uses the same exact wording. She always tells you that you "this type of clothing (e.g. t-shirt) you have to spend money on if you want to look good." I could understand if she said this about one article of clothing, but she said it about ALL articles of clothing. She pretty much scrapped her statement at the beginning and the book turned out to be a way for her to show off how much money she has and how wonderful her husband is. Long story short: I read this on an airplane and I had a choice between this book and a skymall catalog. I chose the skymall catalog. | Victoria | Customer Rating: | | I have only made it through the 1st chapter, but so far very easy to read, she is a down to earth chic! |
