The new edition of Dr. Ottos benchmark text of echocardiography is a must for everyone learning echo for the first time, or re-learning the essential concepts. Dr. Ottos writing style engages the reader and makes difficult concepts easy to understand. New to this edition is a discussion of new echo techniques including contrast and 3D and how they fit into the echo practice. All echo images are new to this edition and are complemented by new full color drawings of heart structures and physical orientation. Each chapter includes a practical outline called The Echo Exam, ideal for understanding the use of echo and how to understand the outcomes.
Very helpful extra book.
| Customer Rating: | It is always OK to use more than one book for study of a subject but for ECHO Feigenbaums is the bible. The 6th edition is a great book and DVD-ROM. Recommended for all levels of echocardiologists.
Ottos book is a helpful extra book. If you want to stick to one book get Feigenbaum's. |

useful but waiting for the new edition
| Customer Rating: | | I found this book is useful for all the cardiology trainee as it is well written, easy to understood and there is many figures. However, it did not mention the new technology in the field of echocardiography such as the tissue doppler, contrast echo. I hope the next edition will include this and the illustrations will be more colorful. |
