The expanded version of the classic Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia continues the high-quality tradition of a convenient and organized pocket manual detailing typical drug dosing (both FDA approved and off-label uses), available trade and generic formulations, metabolism, Canadian trade names, relative pricing information, and safety in pregnancy and lactation. The Deluxe takes it all a step further by including additional drugs and dosing indications, black-box warnings, and notes regarding adverse effects and drug interactions, and a table of cytochrome P450 isozymes. Packed with this expanded information and more tables than the Classic, the Deluxe is still small enough to comfortably fit in your lab coat pocket. | Customer Rating: | | I've used these books since medical school and still go back to it when I can't find what I need on my palm pilot. It sorts drugs alphabetically and by class and even gives a relative cost estimate. It has an index and also other little tidbits, like algorithms for ACLS, conversion charts, and skin dermatomes. There is nothing that you will ever buy that will give you the same value. It is available in two sizes; I prefer the pocket sized, and I usually get one for the office and leave one in my clinical jacket. It also lists some drugs that are no longer popular, but still necessary at times, such as IV vasotec dosing. |
