Absolutely loved it | Customer Rating: | | I love the style books and even though I feel I'm pretty good at this, I learned a lot in this book and I love his tone. He makes women feel they ARE okay, whatever their body type is. | Really Great | Customer Rating: | I love this style book. I think Sam does a great job of sticking to classics, and finding fashion tips that fit your body. There is nothing to trendy and everything makes sense for every day life. I have had this book for about 2 years and I have referred to it often usually during change of seasons when I am looking for an update, and it never fails me. Its simple and to the point. | Good book - could be better | Customer Rating: | | This book did help me to get an idea of basics I should have in my closet to flatter my body type. However, it would have been much more helpful to me if in lieu of the sketches of women used as examples in inside the book, they used actual photos of women wearing clothing appropriate for each body type - like they do on the cover. | Not good for a beginner | Customer Rating: | | I was looking for a basic book. You are this body shape and this is what you should wear. There were two pages of general info on each body shape, then the rest of the book was general advice. I was very disappointed. | nothing outstanding | Customer Rating: | If you already have other books on style, you will probably be dissapointed. If this is your one and only style book, you might give it a higher rating..but here is the truth: It falls short of the Suzanna and Trinny series because it has no real photographs; the illustrations for types of looks are not nearly as inspiring as the illustrations in "The Pocket Stylist" (despite "the pocket stylist" having precious few illustrations) ; there is nothing to browse at for fun the way there is in "the lucky shopping manual"; it does not help you to work out your body type accurately.. for that, nothing beats "The Science of Sexy"; it didn't motivate me to clean out my closet like "I don't have a thing to wear" did; and it doesn't address colour. This book probably does cover many of these aspects, but it hasn't nailed any one of them in an outstanding way. Also, for an overall a pleasant book, it is also surprisingly dull..for some reason I can't put my finger on! This inability to engage its reader's interest may be its worst flaw; because there is nothing to differentiate it from the other style books. |
