More than 1,000 questions cover everything from the fundamentals of gross and microscopic pathology to the latest findings in molecular biology and genetics. Based on two of the field's best-selling, most authoritative textbooks-Kumar et al.: Robbins and Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease, 7th Edition and Kumar et al.: Basic Pathology, 7th Edition-Robbins and Cotran Review of Pathology, 2nd Edition is an ideal preparatory tool for the classroom, the USMLE Step 1, or the American Board of Pathology exam. * Offers more than 1,000 questions that follow the clinical vignette style used on the USMLE Step 1, emphasizing problem solving over rote memorization. Presented in both single-best-answer and extended-matching formats, they reflect levels of difficulty comparable to those found on the USMLE. * Provides an answer and a detailed explanation for every question at the end of each chapter. * Includes page references and a parallel organization to both Robbins and Cotran and Basic Pathology, making additional information easy to locate. * Presents correlative laboratory, radiologic, and physical diagnostic data to enhance readers' understanding of pathophysiology and to integrate pathology with other medical disciplines. * Uses numerous full-color illustrations to test readers' diagnostic skills. * Delivers a 50-question final "comprehensive" exam on random topics that mimics the format of the USMLE Step 1. good book... | Customer Rating: | | Good for 2nd year medical students Organ Systems Course. Just questions with explanations... THIS IS NOT A TEXTBOOK... Buy the shortened versions of Robbins if you're looking for nice summaries. | The ultimate pathology resource | Customer Rating: | | This entire series is the best available pathology resource available. Additionally, it is well written and relatively easy to read. There's a reason that this is the gold standard for medical school pathology textbooks. It is up to date with current research. Highly recommended | Had to have it! | Customer Rating: | | Just a required book for medical school. I wish I could say it's enjoyable reading but I'm learning what I need to and it was recommended that I purchase this particular text, so others seem to think it is grand. | not satisfied | Customer Rating: | | The book has blue pen marks all over, so I wanted to refund. Emailed the seller, but the seller never replied my email. | Wow, can you say helpful? | Customer Rating: | Sometimes reading through a review book seems like a great way to see what you picked up, but it is too easy to just say, Oh yeah, I knew that, and move on. The images in this book are great, the questions truly assess learning, and the answers continue to enlighten. If you get nothing else in terms of pathology books, get this guy, it is well worth the money.
PS I prefer new so that way the questions are not already answered. That is the worst when they are already marked up and it is no longer a learning experience. |
