Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com The new editions of Problems in Legal Ethics (Eighth Edition) and California Legal Ethics (Sixth Edition) retain their popular problem-based approach while integrating recent developments since the prior editions. Of particular note is the completely rewritten chapter addressing judicial conduct, which adopts a fresh and more teachable approach to judicial ethics, based on the new 2007 ABA Model Code of Judicial Conduct. Decent Textbook, but reading a Rule Book is more Helpful | Customer Rating: | Normally a law school text book is filled with case after case. Well for those of you who hate reading case after case, then this is the book for you.
On average there is only 1 case per chapter, with the remainder of the chapter devoted to ABA opinions and or Law review articles. While the articles are insightful, they really don't give you any more of an understanding of the ABA Rules, than just reading the rules with the commentary. What is good about this text, however, are the discussion problems at the beginning of the chapter and the multiple choice problems at the end of each chapter. These problems will help you better understand and think about the ABA Model rules.
Overall the book isn't too bad, but you if you have a copy of the ABA rules along with the commentary then this book becomes worthless for the most part. |
