| Customer Rating: | | This book is one of the worst text books I have ever read. The diagrams are few and far between and the jargon is just overwhelming. There are only a few things which are explained crystal clear. The diagrams are terrible, there is no color in the entire book so it gets hard to read after a while, and the chapters are insanely long. Being a chem major, there are way better books than this one. |
Filthy Purchase
| Customer Rating: | It's a great text. However, the person who sold me my copy should be barred from Amazon. That person has no concept on what is considered to be "like new": The book that I bought based on a claim that the book was like new was a major disappointment! It seemed to have fallen into mud, which was later wiped dry; and the pages have markings (notations and worked problems) throughout.

Don't order this package -- it is not what it says it is...
| Customer Rating: | No idea if the book is good or not yet, but when I ordered this package it came WITHOUT the study guide. Amazon "corrected" the error by sending me another copy of the text, ALSO WITHOUT the study guide.
After an hour of discussion, they agreed, "as a one time only thing" to break their policy of not correcting purchaser errors. Because the description is in the "Editorial Reviews" it is not their responsibility to be sure it's accurate. For the price listed you get the TEXT ONLY, no study guide....for that, there is an additional charge of $78. |

It's hard to find a good comprehensive organic chem book without buying an intro and advanced book separately. So far, this has covered the bases. Who knows, maybe I'm not doing advanced enough work!! |

Organic Chemistry is quite difficult in general, but this book takes you through everything in a clear and concise manner. Lots of problems to practice. It may also help to get the solutions guide which answers the problems setp-by-step and gives another perspective/sumary of the material. |
