From quick sketches to polished portfolio pieces, this essential collection leads the fashion student through every stage of the design process. Two hundred classic and modern templates of men, women, teens, and children show figures from every imaginable angle (full-length, three-quarter, back, and front-on), so would-be designers can showcase each stunning garment with the correct pose. Draw right over the templates using semi-transparent layout paper, a light box, or computer scanning. For more adventurous students, this will serve as a guide to create their own properly proportioned figures freehand and elongate the hands, feet, and legs for elegant curves that draw the eye to every unique style feature. just okay..i guess | Customer Rating: | | The female croquis/templates ARE quite manly...maybe even 'tranny' looking. Figures are quite boxy and cartoony making them somewhat difficult to manipulate to your personal style and the male figures' shoulders were too rounded for my liking. Overall, the female templates were too broad and man-ish while the male templates weren't broad enough. You can find better templates in other textbooks or on the web. | Very basic; OK for real beginners | Customer Rating: | | Probably OK for a beginner as quick template to try ideas out on. Stiff looking and one would have to change them alot to give them some style and attractiveness. Dated looking- seems like most of these books were written in the 80's and need updates, or should be more generic (if that possible in fashion). | Great Recommendation | Customer Rating: | | I bought this book after reading the reviews of others. I am truly glad that I purchased it. It has been a great help. thanks for the reviews folks! :) | nice templates | Customer Rating: | | i love to draw and some times drawing figuers is time consuming and they have great templates for a fashion design and i love and body in fashion design and in collge for this its a great book a must buy | Ok. | Customer Rating: | | This book is ok. I agree with the other reviewer that it is best for entry level drawing. The croquis are decent minus the stringy hair, broad shoulders, and large, manly necks, but those are things you can fix. The color is horrible and many of the drawings just look downright strange and very much like strippers. I highly suggest to use this book as a starting point, no more. |
