The Best on the Market
| Customer Rating: | | Nobody puts out a better dictionary than Merriam-Webster. The Collegiate is my pick because one of my hobbies is the Over-50 Spelling Bee, and this dictionary is the reference source for that competition. The Elementary edition is what I use in my classroom. The Unabridged is what I subscribe to on the Web. I wouldn't buy any other company's dictionary because this book and its publisher can trace their roots back to the original Noah Webster who first recognized the uniqueness of American English. |
great for students
| Customer Rating: | | This a great resource for students( or anyone else, but students will get the most out of it). My mom had the 8th version or so in about 1995. The CD is great to quickly look up words and you can incorporate it into word processing programs like microsoft word. |
