Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com Written in an informal colloquial style, this student-friendly Principles of Macroeconomics textbook does not sacrifice intellectual depth in its quest for accessibility. The authors primary concern is to instill economic sensibility in the student. Colander emphasizes the intellectual and historical context to which the economic models are applied. This new edition offers improvements to this established and respected text including special Questions from Alternate Perspectives end-of-chapter questions that facilitate class discussion of differing schools of thought in the discipline, and access to over 250 minutes of new videos from Paul Solman of the Lehrer NewsHour. A book with personality! | Customer Rating: | | What a book! Just reading the introduction, I knew this was going to make learning macroeconomics much easier. The writer is a character and explains this to a T. Highly recommended! | Words and More Words | Customer Rating: | | For an introduction to Macroeconomics this book serves as the verbose older brother to a Macroeconomics for Dummies. If you have a class that requires this text the professor may or may not be trying to help you out. I don't feel the reading is very concise and any applicable mathematical equations are frequently relegated to the end of chapters. The style of writing is conversational and tends to drag on. Again if you have to use this book to just get through the class, you should be fine. But if you have an interest in economics there are better textbooks out there. **Use the online learning center: http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/0072978856/student_view0/index.html | Review | Customer Rating: | | The book that i reieved came in great condition and like it was new and best of all it was a great price. | very frustrating experience | Customer Rating: | | I used this book for 2 semesters starting my teaching career as a TA, and I was very dissatisfied with this book.
