Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com The most widely-used text on the topic of collaboration, Interactions is a guide for preprofessionals and professionals to help them understand and participate effectively in their interactions with other school professionals and parents. It addresses collaboration as a style, with accompanying knowledge and skills, that guides practices in many education efforts. Interactions provides a cutting-edge look at how teams of school professionals-- special educators, general educators and related services professionals--can effectively work together to provide a necessary range of services to students with special needs. As a result, future teachers learn how to collaborate with school professionals and families to help special education students who are more often being placed in general education settings. The new edition features: discussion of collaboration in the context of IDEA 2004; Chapter Opening Vignettes; a new boxed feature entitled "A Basis in Research" that demonstrates the rigorous research underpinning the practical collaborative techniques; an expanded section on Ethics that includes a broader selection of ethical inquiries; Issues of diversity are now discussed in relevant passages throughout the text; the Foundations chapter has been expanded to include material on the evolution of inclusion strategies; the Teams chapter has been revised to demonstrate a more practical and less theoretical approach to teaming. Excellent source of info. | Customer Rating: | | Using this book for a grad. course on collaboration and consultation. So far, the information it's provided seems to be quite valuable. | Unhappy with Amazon | Customer Rating: | I do not know how I got two books ordered unless it was when I was trying to do the free book offer you had. I was denied credit however. Maybe this is how it happened. I was unhappy that I had to pay shipping on the book I had to send back. I do not need two of the same book. The book is very helpful for the class I am taking I will want to keep it for reference in the future.
Arlene | very repitious | Customer Rating: | | Much of the same information repeated throughout the chapters. Also would like to see chapters shifted around. didn't think the order was appropriate or logical. | Good, easy to use book | Customer Rating: | | I bought this book as a requirement for a class, but am finding it easy to read and full of useful information. | Review of Interactions: Collaboration Skills for School Professionals (4th Edition) | Customer Rating: | | This book does make some important points about teaming, but is generally a waste of time and money. It is filled with common sense information, and each chapter can be easily summarized in a few short sentences. |
