Better than Emmanuels, but could still use a better index
| Customer Rating:  | If you're trying to decide between Emmanuel's outline and the Gilbert one, I suggest always going with Gilbert's. The Gilbert lecture on cassette/CD is good, too.
The Gilbert outlines seem to always seem to have better/more examples than Emmanuel's. All of the outlines are still frustrating to me. I prefer the Finals series - shorter, sweeter & lots of practice test questions. |
Solid summary of first year tort topics.
| Customer Rating: | I think Gilbert Law Summaries: Torts is a solid commercial outline. I am glad I spent the money for it. I used the book for my first year torts class. I found the book to be useful as a review resource once I spent time reading/briefing the cases. Buy it and use it as a supplement, not a replacement for class prep and case briefing.

Buy Early, Study Late
| Customer Rating: | | This book is not just a study guide for last minute cramming. I recommend you buy it early in the semester and use it as a companion for the entire course (coming from someone who bought it in November and is kicking himself). Reading this book after you have read and briefed your casebook will give you a nice little summary of the topic you're studying. Yes there are outlines. Yes there are practice questions. But this is also a great way to prepare for each class, not just the final. |
