A Brief History of Western Civilization is a great history book. It not only gives the facts but delves into what was happening in the background of history. The layout is easy to follow and the book includes some great maps, charts, pictures, etc. The only reason this book isn't getting 5 stars is because it's too big, heavy but flimsy which makes it difficult to take care of, especially lugging back and forth in a book bag.
