Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: The Superior Wife Syndrom It was something my cat could write: no point, just results of interviewing a group of people. An outstanding survey any general library will find compelling The Superior Wife Syndrome: Why Women Do Everything So Well and Why - for the Sake of Our Marriages - We've Got to Stop provides case histories of wives and husbands to support the idea that modern wives tend to do all - while their husbands coast along, with little control. Psychologist Carin Rubenstein explores how this syndrome damages relationships and how couples can work to regain equality. An outstanding survey any general library will find compelling. Very Affirming!!! This book helped me to understand just went wrong with my 13 year marriage and how not to repeat the same behavior in my next relationship. It was affirming to recognize that I was not the only women caught in the vicious cycle of Problems with today's marriages Being in my 70's, I have seen many marriages that thrive or fail...with many in-between. This author has done excellent research that describes many marriages' pluses or minuses. I highly recommend reading this book to ALL women and most men. I wish I had had it to read 50 years ago. Great Marriage Resource The title of this book might lead you to believe that it is another book about being the "perfect wife". However, it is actually teaching women to let go and be a little "less perfect". In today's world, women tend to over-achieve while letting their men off the hook. Rubenstein believes this is unhealthy in a marriage, leading to resentment on both sides. While some might see the author as a man-hater, I didn't get that. I understood her to be encouraging women to let their men step up to the plate and take responsibility that is theirs as well. I feel it is a great resource for both men and women who are trying to improve their marriage. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
