Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Book Review if you have foster children, adopted children, or a blended family, this book is both fabulous and neccessary! Dont hesitate to buy it and follow the instructions for making a lifebook! Great book for adoptive parents I'm a parent of a 4 year-old litte boy and along with his therapist, I am putting together a life book to help learn about all the people in his life. I plan to tell him about his adoption and present him with the book when he is seven or eight. He is really smart and intelligent and along with his therapist feel that he will be able to understand. I highly recommend this book to all adoptive parents. Great Book Making a lifebook seemed like such an overwhelming task - especially since we also kept a journal and made a scrapbook of the trips. But this book was a great help in organizing the thoughts, words and ideas for my daughters lifebook. Although every situation is unique, this book was almost a how-to manual with step-by-step instructions for each page/section. Although it worked well for international adoption, the book also had ideas and sections for foster children, older children and domestic adoptions. In additiona, Beth includes sample pages and helps with wording for tough situations like abuse, neglect, and lack of information on birth parents. great guide to lifebooks I have used this and I have gifted this book. It is fantastic for guiding you through the creation of a lifebook. Just be prepared to do some work. Maria As an adoptive mother to be, I found this book enlightening. It's easy to read, informative and gives simple ideas for creating a life book. It's been a great find and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who's thinking about adopting too. If you manage to read it prior to your adoptive child arriving home, you'll get lots of useful hints on what to look out for while you're still in the adoption process. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
