I know I was. Six months ago, I finally decided it was time to understand why every relationship ended in drama and disaster. I felt so out of control because I invested so much and then ended up with nothing.

This book (along with Why He's Dating Her (Instead of You) - Why He Didn't Commit, Why He Left, and Why You're Still Hooked - 10 Ways to Be the Woman Every Man Wants) helped me turn things around.

This book helped me to get honest. I always thought it was the guys I was choosing who had the problem. To my surprise, I had deep feelings of resentment toward men and really made things hell for them and myself.

Not only did this book help me recognize what I was doing, the author gave very wise and very sound suggestions on how I could stop behaving the way I had been. It's taken some practice, but I am getting better.

Awareness is everything.

I was a little disappointed with this book. Although it was informative, it was written in the 80's. Times and attitudes on relationships have changed and I would have liked to have read something a little more current; some of the information seemed a little outdated. Also, I felt like I was trudging through the book instead of enjoying it. Some fun and whimsical passages would have made it more interesting; instead it was dry and read like a college text book. There is still some good advice to be learned, but if I had known it was such a dry read, I would have ordered something else.

The book is EXCELLENT and clearly explains, elaborates and gives great examples as to behaviors that lead to unhappy relationships. The examples of self-defeating behaviors and the perspective of both of the people in the relationship where the behaviors are manifesting gives good perspective. The book also describes various different types of manifestations as a result of various insecurities, fears, and anxieties; 'the caretaker', 'the easy lover', the martyr', 'the Siamese twin' and so on. These profiles take you into the mind of the woman acting out these roles and the man experiencing them and in these multifaceted expressions and explanations the reader not only is able to see into the minds of these types of people and relationships, but also into a solid understanding for why these profiles are destructive to relationships. The book takes it further in breaking down fear, anxiety, self-esteem and so on. This book also goes in depth to give great information about productive behaviors and explanations for why they are productive behaviors, half the book is about 'Women Men Love' and the other half is about "women Men Leave'. This is a book I will read again.

This is a seriously good read. It's about what it takes to get a man to commit and if you are having trouble, like some of the rest of us, in that area, this is a must read. I liked realzing the negative relationship patterns and how they effect my beliefs about whatever relationship I am in. It's just some really, really good stuff to know and I think every woman should read this one. I'd also sugest: Man Magnet: How to Be the Best Woman You Can Be in Order to Get the Best Man-A Guide To Dating (Revised Edition).

I have bought a lot of books here but even if i have liked it i never wrote a review, but this one sure deserves it a lot! There're a bunch of books that talks about the subject of man and women differences, the things men do, what women should "do", what the heck someone did wrong, and are so popular but at the same time superfluous... this one won't tell you what "to do" or "act" like the so called "bitch" but it will sure explain lots of things you (and i) had never realized; it's complete, smart, professional, accurate, and for sure will be one of those books you will reread again, and change the way you see you relationship, because of the great approach! I highly recommended if you want to have a valuable book this absolutely is it(and why not "Smart Women/Foolish Choices" great book as well!). Hope it helps you to overcome some of your doubts and erase some of the myths...
