Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Competencies Made Easy Donna Wright delivers an easy-to-read, well developed book on creating and implementing Human Resource Competencies in Health Care. Filled with helpful examples, the book well covers the second and third order effects of various choices. I most strongly recommend this for Senior Nurse Executives, staff development, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and staff educators. Excellent, quick read I am so glad that I found this resource as we are now evaluating our current competency standards. This book speaks from a managerial perspective, but has relevant material for the educator or nurse specialist that may be assisting in the program planning. The book discusses the need for individual and management accountability and methods that best suit the adult learner. It also includes the PBDS domains that we are now trying to implement and make jive into our current culture and practice. Thank you, thank you, thank you. An educator's assistant For anyone who is concerned with compentencies in nursing, this book is a terrific guide with innovative ideas. Why waste time making pages and pages of checkoff lists? Make your time as well as the staff's time more efficient and effective. This book is filled with ideas to assist with critical thinking skills and improved time management. It uses an innovative approach for both skill and performance improvement. Donna Wright is creative, resourceful and pragmatic. The tools she offers are well worth using. I highly recommend this book for any nurse on any type of patient care unit to establish new ground rules for evaluation. Competency validation resource This is the best book I have found on competency assessment of health care workers. There are many ways to verify competency, and this book identifies which are appropriate for various identified competencies for licensed and unlicensed personnel. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
