Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Quick and fun This handy little flip book has a lot of memory aids... the art is humorous and provides a context for learning about the medication classifications and some of the specific meds within the class... great for carrying around and studying while waiting in line, riding the bus, or during commercials! Not enough information I bought these cards to help me study for the NCLEX. After I bought them and sat down to study, I realized I had made a mistake. I learned the medications much beter through using my textbook "pharmacology for nursing care" than through any one of these phony study tools. There are silly cartoons, which I think insult the nursing profession--I doubt any medical or pharmacy student would need cartoons to remember drugs. The best study tool for me was to learn the classes of drugs and all of the generic names, for example, all nearly all beta blockers end in "olol" and act by decreasing sypathetic nervous system stimulation on the heart. Also, nearly all ACE inhibitors end in pril, and prevent the kidneys from retaining sodium and water, to a lesser extent, and so on...This is what worked for me. Useful resource Pharmacology is a hard subject, but Mosby makes it easier to understand. Great resource for first year nursing students! AWESOME! Little things... pictures, very silly pictures...helped me remember what drug classes were and the side effects. I am a very visual learner and these really helped. Better than plain drug cards. Worth the $ :) Good memory tool These cards are great to help you learn your phamacology, but unfortunately there are a lot of more important medications that are missing from this set :( | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
