Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: New Practitioners
Excellent Resource for Acute Care Practice As an acute care PA, I have referred to this book on numerous occasions. It is well laid out, reviewing the "to do's" and the "to not do's" Simple and concise and quick to the point. Highly recommended for any one in an acute care setting. Not just for ER/Urgent care providers I received the first edition of this book as a gift about 20 years ago when I was a new grad FNP (it was titled common, simple emergencies then). I had worked in an ER as an RN, but since becoming a nurse practitioner I've worked in rural and remote primary care clinics. I've read this book cover to cover several times, and refer to it frequently. Every primary care provider sees minor emergencies in the office from time to time, and even if you don't work in remote settings, most of the conditions covered in this book will show up in a primary care/family practice clinic almost as often as they will in an ER/Urgent care center. I think this book belongs on every primary provider's bookshelf. One of the best medical book I have ever purchased. Quick reference. Great for urgent care. I am a new NP grad of 6 mths, but all of the other providers in the practice ask to look at it. Great book for any acute care setting. I am a Doctor is a busy Urgent Care clinic. Most of the topics were not new for me but I found several great suggestions and ideas that I'd never considered before. It's great to get a refresher of the basics and a new perspective on treating acute illness or injuries. I've already used several practical suggestions from the book--I'm always glad to have new pearls of wisdom and this book is loaded with them. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
