Good overall summary but poor writing I am a physiotherapist and have undertaken post graduate training in osteopathic assessment & techniques, of which Strain-Counterstrain is one of. Its a gentle but powerful technique for acute and/or persistent problems. This therapy is a miracle for me I have not read this book but I am being treated by a physical therapist who is trained in this technique. I have Fibromyalgia plus was injured in a car accident. I have been in constant severe pain for four years. Pain killers didn't help. Neither did chiropractic, naturalopathic, acupuncture, cranio sacral physical therapy, aquatic physical therapy or massage. Just by chance I found a physical therapist who uses this technique and I feel better than I have in years. I highly encourage anyone who is in any of the various bodywork professions to try this book. The author is the founder of this type of therapy. Great book, great explanations, great pictures, great reading This amazing book clearly explains the history, physiology, and over 150 techniques of Strain Counterstrain... and the 3 simple steps to apply it. Techniques are divided into 9 regions from Cranio-Fascial to Feet. Each section details the tenderpoint locations and 'position of comfort' for the dysfunction to disappear! There are plenty of pictures, and Dr. Jone's writing style is easy and fun to read. There is even a section on self-treatment. Whatever your background, if you put your hands on your patients, this book is essential. Too Difficult Strain-Counterstrain would be helpful if there were more photos & discriptions with each stretch. It does not give enough direction. | | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
