Reviews --This book is a must read for everyone interested in improving their health.-- Pam Killeen, NY Times bestselling author --The protocol in this book is very effective for preventing and mineralizing cavities.-- Timothy Gallagher, D.D.S. President, Holistic Dental Association --It is a life and thought changing book written by a man who's not trying to sell you anything. How rare is that?-- David, Idaho --This is a very different type of health book, written from the heart. The dietary advice put forth in this book is not only crucial for preventing tooth decay but for preserving the health of the human race.-- Margie, Connecticut --I was ready to have a tooth pulled and the dentist told me I needed a root canal but I had no money. I was in pain and the cheek had actually started to swell up. Within three weeks of trying the diet I could tell I was turning the corner. The tooth stopped hurting; my teeth all over became whiter. After over a month on the diet it is hard for me to feel which tooth was bothering me. When I look at it in the mirror it still has a hole but the tooth feels like it is healing. Thanks a million to Ramiel Nagel for writing this book. Unbelievable!-- Leroy, Utah --If you are discouraged and don't know what to do, get this book. I was very worried and upset about my daughter's teeth at first, but now I am actually very calm because I know I am doing the right thing.-- Marina, Canada --The great thing about this book is that it allowed me to take control over problems that I had once felt I had little control over no matter how hard I tried. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in taking responsibility for their own health and want to live a life of optimal health.-- Michael, California | Average Customer Rating: first book to help me overcome processed foods I was at the dentist office and he found a small cavity. I did not let him "fix" it because I felt there must be a natural way to do it. After a brief search it was obvious "Cure Tooth Decay" was the way to do it, when the book came I was left astonished by the wisdom inside it. The main point to stop tooth decay (and any other illness) is to not eat industry processed food. After that you should eat natural food and drink not polluted water.
The book helped me realise two truths:
1. You can eat very healthy, but if you eat store bread it will pull down all the power of all other good foods you have eaten! Any industry processed food is made to do that. Not to kill you but to pull you down. So you accept lifes dullness as it as and obey authority. Such food was needed so the workers in industrial age would not question their misery. Food is the same today.
2. It gradually helped my consciousness ditch commercial food. That is the hardest part to achieve because many times in my life I decided to get rid of processed foods, but hidden fears and doubts creeped in! And I was not successful. This book is the best vehicle I found to help your conciseness grow above unnatural modern marketing of: pasta, bread, cereals, white rice... I have a substantial knowledge of alternative medicine and yoga. All alternative medicine systems tell you to get rid of processed foods. But when you try to do it you inevitably have huge fears:
"What will I eat if I do not eat bread" "Bread is the best food for me" "Natural food is very expensive" "What will others think"
This book energetically helps you to actually do it. It is a vehicle towards higher good. It changes your perception of reality. It changes the reality. It has passed 2 months from when I last ate processed foods, I feel better, and unimaginable as it may sound: I spend less money on food!
For 2 months I did not eat:
Bread. All bread bought in store is bad, even organic store bread. Bread prepared in traditional ways is fantastic-if you can find it. Pasta. Pasta is a horrible product of industry, avoid at all costs. After the book it is easy to do. White rice. Yet Another horrible product made only for profit. I knew that but hidden unconscious blockages prevented me to ditch it.
Now I can easily do without it.
My cavity has gotten smaller!
Once you are set free from being a slave to modern foods of commerce author continues to explain how the ancient people ate. They were healthy, strong and good looking. They had no cavities. They had no illness. Until familiar western culture came to visit them...
If you are reading this review I am sure you understand something is not right in the world. That we are born to live under a certain hypnosis. That we are taught to give away our responsibility to "people with authority", and those people cannot even take care of themselves. I recommend this book if you want the way out. A Sound Guide to Better Tooth Health Now you would think I would know better in regards to nutrition because I am a nutrition consultant for dogs. But my personality type is such that I focus outward - not inward. With extreme stress for a long period of time and putting everyone else first - my teeth took a severe beating. The wake up call was when I had a badly infected molar that had to be removed under general anesthesia. I am familiar with Weston Price and read his book on Nutrition and Degeneration years ago. Ramiel Nagel's book takes the base knowledge of Weston Price and applies it to remineralizing teeth and creating a healthy mouth. I just started following his plan as it seemed quite sound to me. Two weeks into the program and I can tell you that there are signs of change. I am drinking raw milk with raw cream and fresh raw eggs in the morning and having 2 - 4 cups of vegetable juice every day along with fresh seafood, organ meats from grass fed animals and lots of fresh grass fed meat from Vermont Jersey cows. Taking cod liver oil three times a day has made me a much calmer person and stress issues - though still abounding - these roll off of me much more easily than when I had let sugar and white flour creep into my diet. It is challenging for me to put myself first - not an uncommon thing for women who take care of others - but the results are obvious and I will keep up the work. Thank-you kindly, Ramiel. Unrealistic solutions of daily cod liver oil and owning your own cow I appreciate the sentiment of wanting to help people improve their diet in order to improve their dental health (and overall health) but the solutions provided in the book are *unrealistic*.
Basically, you should eat cod liver oil several times a day for the rest of time. And make sure to buy yourself 100 hectares of pristine grazing land where you'll place the cow that you also bought, so you can have raw milk and churn your own butter.
Even a huge Wholefoods barely has any of the food items recommended in this book.
I'm disappointed that I didn't obtain any practical solutions from this book. I wish I read this book while I was growing up I am very much a do-it-yourself person, and I wished I could take care of my teeth all on my own and that I never had to go to visit any dentists - now there is a hope that I can take much better care of my teeth than I suspected before.
Years ago I met a woman who was about 50 years old and who had perfect teeth - she never had any dental problems and when I asked her for her secret she said throughout her life she brushed her teeth only with salt and sodium bicarbonate. It sounded pretty simple and I didn't give it much thought at a time, but if one cause of tooth decay is too much acid in saliva, then the fact that sodium bicarbonate would alkalinize the mouth and protect the teeth from decay would make sense.
Putting few drops of clove essential oil, oregano oil, tea tree oil in a bit of sesame and olive oil as a base works great to kill infections and reduce pain. CoQ10 helps to strengthen the gums.
The author of this book shares a nutritional protocol that would help to strengthen gums and teeth - the essence of which are common sense suggestions presented in any book on healing through nutrition, namely that we should eat food as close to their natural state as possible.
This book has more specific food recommendations and even though the nutritional protocol is offered both for vegetarians and non-vegetarians, it seems that according to the author the optimal nutrition for better teeth consists of a good deal of meat and on top of it - raw meet, which may not be exactly the cup of tea of most people. The author doesn't seem sure whether vegetarian nutrition can provide sufficient nutrients, yet I can't help but think of countless people in India, for example, who are vegetarian and do have perfect teeth. The other day a friend of mine who often travelled to India mentioned that she met there a woman who was very poor and had barely enough food, but she had perfect teeth - the woman used to brush her teeth with earth and twigs from some tree (perhaps neem).
The author shares several pictures of people whose nutrition was as close to nature of their region as possible and who had perfect teeth and beside them are pictures of people from the same region who fed themselves mostly with processed food that is popular in the "civilized" world. Those people had half of their teeth missing and they look more like extreme cases, nevertheless our bodies being like a chemical laboratories, with our cells constantly renewing, the body can renew itself only with the whatever we put into it and if we feed our bodies with food that has no nutritional value, no wonder that our bodies are falling apart.
The author of this book doesn't claim that he has all the answers and ultimately we are encouraged to experiment, to listen to our bodies and to find out what works best for us.
The book contains few recipes for making your own tooth powder and assortment of remedies for dealing with gum and tooth issues. He also provides addresses of several websites where you can find more resources. I do consider the book informative, inspiring and altogether helpful. | |
