Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Clean Program book Great book. I read it religiously. Read the book over and over again. Completed the Program a week after receiving the book. Loved this cleanse! And book :) I started this cleanse with a two week elimination diet and did the best I could to take the suggested supplements, probiotics, and do suggested activities such as dry brushing, hot/cold plunges etc. Unfortunately I didn't get around to doing any exercise or meditation so next time around I'll work harder on adding those. All in all I felt like a superhero for most of the time, I accomplished things I had been putting off for years! The book was a helpful motivator and I loved some of the recipes. I did the cleanse as a pescitarian (I eat fish) and don't eat any meat and still felt nourished and full. I was hoping my skin would clear up a bit more than it did (was still super bright though), that's why its my journey to continue to investigate and figure out what is causing my acne. All in all I lost 15 lbs and felt a world better. I suffered only from maybe one or two headaches in 5 weeks and a cold, but hey its winter and canada :) I did get a bit bored in the last week of the cleanse and all I wanted to do was eat bread but I held out! CLEAN, To your health I read this book out of desperation, for I was very sick with diverticulitis, and wanted to really get better naturally. Reading Clean was like an intense one on one with a qualified Doctor who had let his conscious be his guide to share his convictions about what is making so many of us unhealthy. Simply put, it is a valuable lesson in the how and why to a healthier body (and mind). I wish all doctors would address health issues as Dr. Junger has and write concise (layman's) books to convey their personal convictions and conclusions based on the vast knowledge they possess. Amazing program, real results I love Dr. Junger's book, and have done his Clean program twice. I am about to start round three and I am very excited! Dr. Junger is exactly what we need right now. He is a traditionally trained MD, who learned that the path to true health lies in what we put in our body, and not how we can manage pain and disease with drugs. That's not to say he does not believe in western medicine, but I love how he recognizes that drugs have their place, and food and lifestyle is the gateway to disease prevention and obesity. My husband is a doctor, as are many of my friends. It is disheartening to see so many of those in the medical profession that actually think that the food we eat does not in any way contribute to the horrible diseases that are on the rise in America, like cancer. On the other hand, some in the medical profession are waking up and advising their patients to be their own patient advocate; learn about organic foods, cut down or eliminate animal products, think about what you put in your mouth and on your body. These are the true superstars of the medical profession, the ones who realize that toxins must be reduced and neutralized, or we are inviting disease into our lives. I do the program using Dr. Junger's supplements and protein powder, it is just easier for me and my family. Although he makes it clear you can do the program just fine without buying his products and he provides ample information on how to do it. I highly recommend Dr. Junger's book, program and website.. he is changing lives. Great concept I really like this book because it opens your mind to new concepts.
