Class required.
Customer Rating:
I needed the book for two of my chemistry classes. The book is mediocre when it comes to actually teaching chemistry. If you need a book to help you understand the material better, this is not the book. If your taking a class that requires it like I did, you dont have another choice. I've seen worse.

Before buying this book you need to know that it is set up entirely as a test review; questions with answers only. No explanations are given for answers or even a review of basic concepts. If you want a refresher on basic concepts this book is not what you are looking for.
A good book for review
Customer Rating:
I enjoy reading up on the sciences, and periodically I review my anatomy-phys, chemistry, physics and mathematics. I found this book and decided it would be a good way to review both organic and inorganic chemistry.
An introduction to Chemistry for Biology Students is a superb book for review. It is in the time honored programmed learning format first developed and widely used in the 1960s. Each page has a small bit of information and questions based on it with answers to the questions immediately available in the margin of the page. With immediate feed back the student learns about and corrects their mistakes before moving on to the next bit of information and its questions.
The book covers a lot of ground: inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry. Obviously in a book of only 287 pages, and with much redundancy and reinforcement, none of the topics is discussed in any depth. It is a good review but no substitute for a more detailed text on each of the categories.

The shipping took way too long. They obviously did not have it in the mail within 24hours, which I find unacceptable.
