Wow I see there already printing the 8th edition.Bought used Universe author Kaufmann 4th edition as a backup reference book for this amateur astrnomers observatory. This will allow otheres to reference items if other books are being read by someone else. Universe 4th edition is about late highschool/freshman college level. Lots of good reference information and good pictures on a well rounded varity of subjects. No real difficult math. For the beginning astronomer or late highschool/freshman college student taking their first astronomy course. Maybe just a tad more math would be needed for a ASTRO101 College course. Still for the reason I bought the book its worth it.3 1/2 star rating.

The book was in a good condition. Everything the seller described about the condition of the book matched the physical description. I liked it.

This book has great illustrations and is written, for the most part, in a way that anyone can easily comprehend. There are additional essays to read with each chapter which give an outside perspective, and so far those have all been interesting. How can you make the universe not interesting?

the book came really fast, but the cover is kind of falling off, which is a bit upsetting because now if I try to sell it back to anyone, they will think that I have done that. Also a little highlighting in the text, but that is understandable in a book that has already been used. I am not very happy about the cover and the corners of the book though.
