Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: good The Book was as advertised and helped me a lot with the few apple trees that I have in my back yard. Would recommend to any back yard orchardist. Technical I got this book looking for help with my sickly fruit trees. I wanted pictures of the diseases they could have and of the leaf shapes etc. I got more technical explainations and no pictures to help me figure out what was actually going on with my trees. It is a good book, but not for someone like me. I guess I was needing a book like "growning fruit trees for dummies". Over all very educational but not easy enough for the lay person to understand. Still no perfect book in this arena I like it, but far from complete. Adequate for most purposes. This, combined with other similar books will give you a better overall knowledge base. Taylor's Guide to Fruits & Berries is definitely more thorough, and the single best boook to buy that I could find on the subject, but is hard to come by. It needs a new edition, if they haven't come up with one already. not very good I got this from the library and was not very impressed. The book is small and not very in depth. Was hopeing for more as I just planted 3 new fruit trees in my back yard. would look elsewhere. excellent reference for starting and maintaining the garden orchard This is an excellent guide and reference for those of us who are new to the growing of fruit bearing plants/trees in the confines of our backyards. It instructs in not only the best choice of plants for the region where one lives, but also gives the logistics of placement needed so that one does not have to overly experiment to find the best amount of sun and shade, etc. I would recommend this book for anyone who loves to garden. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
