As a foreign language teacher who has been teaching for over 10 years, I am always looking for new ideas to work into the classroom. This book provides great activities that can be used the very same day! I am mentoring a new teacher this year and have loaned her the book to help her develop lessons and activities as well. Highly recommended!

Great resource! So many activities you can't possibly try them all over the course of a school year even with 4 different levels of foreign language!! It's the kind of book that you can't read through too much in one sitting otherwise you get overwhelmed. It can also make you feel like a boring teacher if you have never incorporated any of the activities. The strategies can get you thinking outside the box and give you a new perspective on assessing students.

This is a great resource for foreign language teachers. I have it with me whenever I am planning lessons. The beginning of the book has a section on classroom organization which has some great tips for student and teacher organization. I've used the packet and binder ideas. I also like all the ideas for how to use flashcards and mini-whiteboards.

The next section of the book has ideas to promote and assess oral proficiency. I really like the idea of essential questions for each unit and making role-play cards for the students.

The rest of the book is divided into warm-ups, individual practice activities, pair activites, group activities, games, and some five-minute activities. I use these sections a lot when I am planning my lessons to ensure that I am not doing the same activities all of the time. It is easy to get stuck in a "game" rut where you play the same game over and over. With all of the ideas in this book, I can always be using different games and group/pair activities. My students enjoy doing the different activities and are not bored because I change what I am doing frequently.
I highly recommend this book to all foreign language teachers. Finally, all of those great ideas you get at conferences are all in one book.

I was amazed with the content of the book. It is exactly what I need now that my school is getting into the IBO, because it helps me to have a constant assessment of my students.
