This book is a must for all school and writing projects. I hate trying to figure how to write a reference and this book simplifies it. The tabs are perfect for quick references. My wife and I both have used this book for our graduate work and my daughters have used it for their undergraduate and high school projects. Each of us have gone to each other's rooms searching for "The Book". "Who's the last one to use The Book?!?" This guide should be a required purchase for all university students. Like a dictionary, older editions are still very useful.

Hackers work resembles that of the bible. I use her rules as my guide for rebellion. If, for example, I want to make a trite saying fresh, I might use anastrophe; however, to use anastrophe I first must have a grammatical authority to rebel against. Hacker says an adjective should precede its noun; therefore, I put my adjective after it--plan myopic. Im a sinner. Hacker confirms it, and that's why I like her.
