Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: great help I'm not entirely new to French, had French for number of years while at school and living in Europe. But it's been a while and found this book to be helpful and easy. They Don't Teach Grammar Like They Used To! If you have a son or daughter who's learning French, this will be an EXCELLENT companion to his/her text book. It's a shame, but most American students come out of high school with little or no understanding of grammar. If they do understand it, they probably learned it not in English class, but by taking Latin or a modern foreign language. Even if you're not learning French... An excellent buy for anyone needing a good grammar reference be it in English or French. Excellent guide for new French learner This book is very helpful in refreshing your knowledge of the English parts of speech and outlining how they relate to French. The correlations are very helpful by quickly and concisely defining the English terms and the corresponding French. The short chapters are quick and easy to read. I was skeptical when it was required for my French class. But after using it I have found it to be a great reference. Best Choice! This is by far the number one grammar guide for English-French students. Especially if you've been out of school for a few years. This is a fantastic way to brush up on your French skills while giving you a refresher on English grammar as well.
