It also covers the movie Star Trek: Insurrection. The supplement is as meticulously detailed as the rest of the volume, listing such fascinating trivia as chadre kab (Seven of Nine's first meal), 'Kahless and Lukara' (a Klingon opera), and voraxna (a Cardassian poison), as well as all the new characters and species. Appendices include illustrations of starships, cast and crew listings, a historical timeline, and a bibliography. All photographs and illustrations (except for a few historical shots) are in color. The encyclopedia was devised in part to help production staff on the various Star Trek TV series to keep up with the ever-increasing level of detail generated by over 30 years of creative effort. It is an excellent reference volume and, whether you want to settle an argument or write a novel, this book will answer your questions. Average Customer Rating:  Mr. Okuda !!..please update the info at Warp Speeeeed!!!!!!!!!!!! There is an ambiguos feeling buying this encyclopedia...you get amused considering all the gathering info and the format in which it is displayed, but there's also a feeling that living to date, in 2009 (one year before Arthur C Clarke's 2010 !) the value of the mentioned info is, unfortunately, outdated !!.
So, if you love Trek and can live with the above explained introduction..go ahead..buy it, as I did (I bought it just last week. I waited and waited in getting a more updated encyclopedia to be release..but I got really tired ! and decide to buy it).
Sumarizing I can only add to my review this: Mr. Okuda we need and update at warp speed 10.1 !!!!!!!!! and please do not include the alternate universe created it by the clumsyness of Ambassador Spock trying to save Romulus from a Super Nova !!!!!!....leave the real TREK (including Enterprise too) alone..its sacred history deserves respect.
Hope you find this review useful! Star Trek Bought this as a Christmas present. It wasn't damaged at all and was in new condition. Awesome, more than enough info I bought this book as a present for my brother's birthday, but when I got it, I had a hard time putting it down. I'm not much of a trekkie but this is a really fun book. exemptional for anyone into star trek this book is a complete and detailed accounts for all star trek series and movies...a must for all collector of star trek. Holy Information! You want to look up something about trek,get this book. it is ridiculously packed full of everything, but then it could have been more in depth with individual items. sometimes a charecters, places, or items only have a phrase or word to describe it. but it is still the most in depth encyclopedia you can get. . . in fact its the only one |  |
