I'm enrolled in a self-guided university course that requires this book. It provides an excellent way to learn medical terminology painlessly and retain the information. A lot of it is repetitive, but that is the point of programmed learning. You don't practice until you get it right, you practice until you can't get it wrong. Still there is flexebility as far as how much reinforcement you choose to do, with the workbook, CD quizzes, and flash cards. Over all it's way better than sitting in a class for learning vocabulary!

I recently took a Medical Terminiology class & passed it no problem. This book is set up the same way. This is a very effective way of learning something that is very difficult; the answer is in the left side of the page so you get immediate feedback. I like this way of learning; I also had a really good teacher, which helped to get this course done within 8 weeks. This time I am retaking terminology to accompany Medical Transcription and to use as a refresher. It is an online class & I figure I will have no problem gettng through this again because of how it is set up. I would think learning English grammar in this way would make it easier also.

If your looking for an easy way to learn and remember medical terminology, this the book to use. It uses a workbook format, where you will be learning a whole new language(Medical Terminology), in a fun and exciting way. The illustrations are very helpful and the repetative approach helps you to retain the terminology. I give this book 5 stars+!!
