Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Praxis Review This is an excellent preparation text for the PRAXIS test. Students can work on test like items and work on their reading rate as well. The Study Guide To Use I first bought and studied the REA Praxis study guide and marveled at how hard the exam might be. The math review section was intense, although the suggestions for taking the essay portion of the exam were very helpful. Then I heard about the ETS study guide. That guide is excellent and is written by the same folks who write the exam. Thus, the tips in the ETS book speak directly to what you'll be seeing on the exam. The math review section was far less intense than what is in the REA study guide. The ETS study guide contains examples of realistic exam questions of the type that were on the actual exam. And it all worked for me. I'm 63 and haven't factored a quadratic equation in over forty years, so I studied hard. I took all the practice tests in the ETS study guide, and the explanations of the answers were very helpful. I cannot recommend the ETS study guide high enough. It should be an essential part of your preparation. How did I do? I got 184 on Reading Section and 187 on the Math Section. I'm waiting for the results on the Writing Section; but having prepared outlines for all 71 of the potential essay questions listed in the ETS study guide and then seeing one of them on the exam, I'm hopeful that I passed that Section as well. Good luck, work the ETS study guide hard, and you'll likely pass with flying colors. Not what I was expecting. I got this book in preparation for the Praxis II tests I have to take coming up. I have to take the Middle School Social Studies, Middle School Mathematics, Elementary Content Knowledge, and the K-6 PLT tests. I got the example questions from the ETS website, but still wanted something more to look at so I figured the ETS book would be the best bet. The questions are the same and there is actually less information from what I'm seeing so far about the above tests I need to take. The Elem. Content Knowledge has a lot of examples and the PLT has a few, but for the M.S. SS and Math there are 1-2 questions tops and they the same as the online ones. They have description about each test, which is the exact same as the information online. Great for the practice tests! Great for people taking the Praxis I tests. I wish it would have given an in-depth review of math. The book goes over exactly how the test works, what will be covered, and has 2 full practice tests. You can also find free reviews online, which I would have used if I had known about them before I got the book. QUICK SHIPPING but not worth the $$$ to purchase The content of this book is common sense for those preparing for this exam who already have (or almost have) a college degree. My money would have been better spent in another selection. Not the fault of this distributor, however. Shipping was quick and easy! Thanks so much! | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
