The ARRL Extra Class License Manual is your ticket to every privilege granted to Amateur Radio Operators. Our expert instruction will lead you through all of the knowledge you need to pass the exam: rules, specific operating skills and more advanced electronics theory.

The Extra Class license is the highest of all three US Amateur Radio licenses. To upgrade to Extra Class you must already hold a General Class license (or have recently passed all of the exams required for a General Class license). Upgrading to an Extra license only requires passing a written examination. As an Extra Class licensee, you will have full privileges on all frequencies authorized by the FCC for Amateur Radio.

Long ago Ham returns

I've had a HAM ticket for years at the Advanced level. Now that I've retired, I decided to upgrade to Extra. This book is excellent for learning the answers to the test questions. Wish me luck when I take the test.

This book is a study manual for a FCC radio license

Unlike a novel this book has to be current.. the one sent to me was expired June 30 of 2008, they are only good 4 years.

I had to buy one from a not so local electronics dealer.


Other than the above fact.. The book was as described and was sent to me lightning fast.

I found the Amateur Extra Class Study QA manual by the ARRL to be of exceptional value and quality. The explanatory text along with the illustrations were top-rate and also represent an improvement over the previous editions.
It will make a fine addition for the library of ham radio operators.

This is the book to help you pass the test.

If you want to know the material to pass the Extra Class license exam this is your book. This is the third book in the ARRL's license manual series.

Author is very thorough without being long winded, quite an accomplishment.
Chapter 4 is particularly well written. If you want to understand the material behind the Extra exam this is the text for you. Much better than just memorizing answers.
