This book is exactly what I have been looking for. If you don't buy this for any other reason, you should appreciate how it breaks down the rules of doing well on the OAT. I plan to use this product up until I take my exam next year, and you should do the same! I have taken some of the subjects yet, and I already feel very comfortable with the exam outline. I must admit that I am not the most disciplined person when studying these types of exams, so using this Kaplan edition has really changed me. It talks about the exam in the way that even I can understand it, and WANT to study for it. Buy this product!

It was great in helping me review specific topics on the OAT. A lot of topics that were in the book were on the test, BUT keep in mind that some of the topics on the test were NOT in the book. It's important to get practice from other sources also. (I would recommend OAT practice test directly from their website--though there are some errors in the answers there, search answers here: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/forumdisplay.php?f=129 AND using Kaplan OAT demo: http://www.kaptest.com/Optometry/Opt...miss_test.html It says "buy it" but it's free! just need to register).

ALSO for the book, there were a lot of errors. Not just a few, but one in (I think I can safely say) almost every science section. Seriously, the pi or sigma sign was an arrow instead. Mostly not a problem, but if you had NO idea what the question was talking about, you'd probably would have to look up the actual answer elsewhere (like..from an actual science text). Maybe it was just my copy...

But as I say, it's definitely a good starting point to study from for the price, but review from other stuff is important too! :) Good Luck!

The item was shipped fast and was in pretty good condition. There was some wear on the cover, so it was in good condition not like new.

Test has good questions to help give an idea of what to study and what not to based on whether you know that material or not. Definitely need other study materials to go along with this.
