Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Much too simple to reflect the actual PCAT exam Aside from the occassional errors (which seem to happen in all review books of any sort), I was most struck by how this review book has very little to do with the actual exam itself. I should know - I took it this morning. The exam is difficult and the caliber of these practice tests is way, way too easy. The review portion of this book is just okay, but anyone serious enough will get the Kaplan book which does a way better job because of its greater heft. If you want to test your knowledge of the basics, then this book is a fine introduction - just don't think it actually reflects the levels of questions that are asked on the exam proper. I also used the Schaum series of outlines to prepare various subjects, which ultimately is probably the best strategy (for me) overall. The mathematics section in this book is a joke compared to the exam; chemistry, merely okay; biology, too basic; reading/vocab is the most comparable. Your money is better spent elsewhere, in my opinion, but if you want more practice problems, then by all means buy it. I hope this helps someone. (This review is for the 4th edition.) Good Practice for the test - Most accurate book on the market While I found numerous factual errors in the McGraw-Hill and Kaplan books, this book had none. Though the other review claims the book had NO review, that is incorrect. This book may not have 200+ pages of basic biology and chemistry like Kaplan, but it does provide a 100 question section that encompasses all that may be asked in the biology section. I found this book incredibly helpful for getting timing down and focusing in on weaknesses. This book is great for students just looking to get in some practice from a source than can be trusted and known to be correct. No Good There is no review in this one. All it is is practice tests. I wish I had known that beforehand. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
