The dictionary was described as having a Kivar binding with jacket, hardcover, but it had a soft cover. I had to pay for shipping both ways. This was an irritating experience.

My youngest son who is incarcerated in prison wanted this dictionary for his college

The dictionary has the 'new' words from this current time in history that my old one does not, and I bought a new one for that reason.

I never thought it would be hard to find a good dictionary, but it is! I like this one. I got the paperback version of it. Our first experience with it was to look up the vocabulary words from my sons 11th grade English final. We found every word on the list. So far it has helped with other homework assignments as well, and that's what is really important as far as I'm concerned.
