Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: great atlas I love this atlas! It's very informative and has great illustrations. In fact, my instructor uses pictures directly from this atlas in his lectures because they're so awesome. I highly recommend it for health professionals and those interested in human anatomy. The best anatomy book I have found I looked at a lot of anatomy text books in my college library and at the university bookshops and online. My conclusion was that I would need at least two books, maybe even three; as they all seem to have there strengths and weaknesses. I have used this atlas for more than 300 hours now and I love it. I have never felt the need for more clarity or a better angle. There is also an online resource that accompanies this book. I have never logged on though, as I have been so happy with the book. Brings a unique concept to anatomy atlases. The Thieme (pronounced "team-uh") atlas teaches anatomy from deep to superficial. Each unit starts with skeletal structures and subsequently adds muscles, organs, arteries, veins, lymph nodes and nerves. At the end of each unit, a few topography illustrations put everything in place to give the reader a since of the big picture. Finally, surface anatomy is presented to train the reader to see the anatomy underneath the skin of a patient. Figure captions, muscle tables, clinical correlations, and radiographs are present and helpful, but perhaps a little sparse. Radiographs are present in Netter, but the others aren't, though they ARE present and abundant on the accompanying website, netteranatomy.com . The Thieme website winkingskull.com is comparatively weak, but most of its content is free if you register. The Best Anatomy Book I've Used This anatomy book is great for studying university-level anatomy. It shows many body parts that are not listed in other books. The illustrations are good, too. This book also comes with a code for online access. I highly recommend this atlas. Totally in love with this atlas The visual representations provided in this text are wonderful and tremendously enhance understanding. One of the most important concepts to grasp when studying anatomy is the spacial relationship between various structures. This atlas provides logical, well labeled figures that provide unique views of the body which elucidate these important relationships. Have a look at this book and see for yourself. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
