Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Good, detailed overview of all types of adoption--very helpful I really enjoyed this book. It's written by an experienced adoption attorney in California who has also written other books on adoption. It is detailed: describes 14 types of adoption, using an attorney or an agency (or both), red flags to watch out for, sample photo-resume letter and networking letters, strategies to find a baby to adopt, legal issues, state by state info, etc. Personally I liked it better than the Idiot's Adoption book which I also own (not that the Idiot's and Dummies books aren't good, I just like this author's style of writing and detailed descriptions better). This booked taught me a lot of about how to go about adopting and made me feel hopeful that it is possible to have a happy outcome. Review of the Essential Guide to Adoption Very well done. Lots of information, ideas and a true plan. Many resources listed. Extremely helpful. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
