Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: *sigh* more corporate and government lies... This is a book more about deception than Flouride. It focuses on how big industry can muscle government regulators and the academic world to bury or distort uncomfortable issues. In this case, Christopher Bryson shows how this was done by the aluminium and chemical industris- who dump thousands of tons of flourine-based waste into the environment each year. The toxic effects of these wastes have been well-known since the turn of the 20th century, when Danish physician Kaj Roholm published his observations on Flourine intoxication of factory workers. Undeterred, Alcoa, DuPont, and Dow, amongst others, launched a campaign of biased research to muddy the waters regarding the dangers of flourine and perflourocarbons (PFC's). These are found in refrigerants and common household products such as Teflon and Scotchguard. The jewel in this public relations crown is the policy of flouridation of community water supplies. This policy was pushed on the unsuspecting public using extremely dubious evidence. To this day, the value of water flouridation is a sacred cow which may not be questioned. Never mind the fact that no other nation will allow flouridation of water supplies, and in fact most countries do not consider ANY level of flouridation to be safe. The benefits of water flouridation achieve two goals for industry: 1) a convenient place to dispose of waste PFC's (the same materials which the EPA would call pollutants if they were detected in a mountain stream!), and 2) as part of the legal strategy. In every flourine-related exposure lawsuit brought against the chemical industry, defense council simply points to flouridation of public waters and says "the government isn't worried about flouride- why should the jury think that flouride harmed you?" The level of dirty tricks, squelched public debate, intimidated whistleblowers, and the promotion of disinformation detailed in this book is shocking. Review of The Fluoride Deception I found "The Fluorise Deception" to be very informative and have passed information along to many concerned people. We have enough trouble living in a world polluted by industry, but to find a by-product of manufacturing added to their drinking water or to find one in the ingredients in their toothpaste should concern everyone. Christopher Bryson's book is definitely recommended reading. Amazing research I was very much impressed with how much work the author put into the writing of this book. There is an incredible amount of very worthwhile information in this book which everyone needs to know. I am so glad a lot of this information has finally been released to the public via the declassification of many documents verifying legitimate proof how dangerous the chemical fluorine is and any compound that is formed with this highly corrosive element needs to be taken very, very seriously. We need to think twice before we continue any more fluoridation of our water supplies and we MUST first complete some real studies as EPA says they will do but never get around to doing. I wonder if it is the bureacratic red tape that is getting in the way of accomplishing this task. If so, our system of government needs to be modified. I absolutely hate to see more and more people getting hurt by getting too much exposure to fluoride through our water supplies. Enlightening! A book for any concerned American.... I am currently reading this book and with every page I turn I find myself shaking my head in disgust. I remain ashamed to the lengths that high officials within our government will go to....to ensure their own selfish interests. "The Fluoride Deception" is a detailed account of the coverup of research showing that fluoride poisoning can/has contributed to many of our ills including bone cancer, fatigue, malaise, teeth mottling and scores of other linked symptoms. It almost pains me to continue reading it but I feel learning this account of our government's well orchestrated deception of fluoride has made me a much more vigilant consumer. And as anyone who is concerned over their own well-being, this book is a must read. A public service, a great book Read this book and learn how the world works. Christopher Bryson has uncovered the truth of the greatest crime perpetrated on the greatest number of people in the history of the country. That's not hyperbole. Read this book and learn why. The government's unholy marriage to industry has poisoned us all for more than 50 years, and condemned many of us to the diseases of the day: Parkinsons, osteoporosis, ADHD, thyroid (and subsequently hormone) problems, MS. . . read the book and learn. Fluoride is a hydra-headed monster that works as a systemic poison to sicken the body and deaden the mind. Prozac is largely fluoride -- did you know that, and that all SSRIs come with a black box suicide warning? The only thing Bryson misses is that the Nazis also used fluoride -- to poison the poor [...] they conquered. We're all poor [...] now, made a lot poorer by fluoride and the american educational system in cahoots with the military industrial complex.
