Summary:

For most Americans, the word NASA suggests a squeaky-clean image of technological infallibility.

Yet the truth is that NASA was born in a lie, and has concealed the truths about its occult origins. Dark Mission documents this seemingly wild assertion.

Why is the Bush administration intent on returning to the moon as quickly as possible? What are the reasons for the current “space race” with China, Russia, and India? Remarkable images reproduced within this book provided to author Richard C. Hoagland by disaffected NASA employees provide clues why, including information about suppressed lunar discoveries.

Mystical organizations quietly dominate NASA, carrying out their own secret agendas behind the scenes. This is the story of men at the very fringes of rational thought and conventional wisdom, operating at the highest levels of our country. Their policies are far more aligned with ancient religions and secret mystery schools than the facade of rational science NASA has successfully promoted to the world for almost fifty years.

Dark Mission is proof of the secret history of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the astonishing, seminal discoveries it has repeatedly suppressed for decades.

Richard C. Hoagland is the former science advisor to CBS News, author of The Monuments of Mars, and a frequent guest on the popular radio programs Coast To Coast and The Art Bell Show.

Mike Bara is a consulting engineer for Boeing aircraft. This is his first book.

Some incredible findings
Customer Rating:  Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5

Some of the information presented in this book is almost unbelievable but much of it is easily confirmed for those willing to take a little bit of time to check the research for themselves. Heavily referenced threw out. I must admit that some of the pictures which are supposed to prove structures on the moon, are not at all obvious to me or to many people who are not trained in the required fields. A few questionable pictures does not take away from the vast amount of amazing research and analysis in all sorts of areas, some of which are totally unexpected.

I also noticed that at least several months ago, Hoaglands "EnterpriseMission" website has been removed from the google search engine. Why would google do this? At least the website is still there, filled with even more astonishing research.

Puh-leeze

I have an open mind. I believe that anything is possible, albeit depending on likelihood. Honestly, this book is mostly preposterous. Is there something on the moon? Probably. Is there a world-government conspiracy about what may or may not be on the moon? Most likely. Having said that, I don't think this book is the one to read to glean any legitimate, conclusive information on the subject. The editing is T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E, do you hear me? TERRIBLE! And I have to add the fact that I suspect Hoagland had to replace his "quotation-mark" key at least 47 times before he finally "completed" this "book." GOOD GRIEF....

The most absurds I've ever read
Customer Rating:  Score = 1 Score = 1 Score = 1 Score = 1 Score = 1

This is a very piece of nonsenses over nonsenses. Not only all the absurd things has been demostrated falses, the author continues making it as true. Mars face, pyramids in Moon and Mars, all of that is a very sum of sillyness.

Hoagland is a great example of how even well educated men can be as nuts as anyone else.

Not for Casual Enthusiasts

First and foremost, there is very little about the actual history of NASA or secrets surrounding the history of it. It's about a conspiracy stating that life is/was on Mars in the Cydonia region and on the Moon and that their marks are still there. The authors obviously spent a lot of time researching and studying, but perhaps they should have spent more time on the title because it makes very little sense.

The actual material itself is very interesting. The authors' strong points are pointing out inconsistencies and anomalies in NASA's released products. They also know a lot about very technical material which makes some large chunks of the book difficult to read if you do not understand simple theories (such as myself). There was a lot of supplemental research done on my part just to understand what the authors were talking about. They are very convincing on several subjects -- their strongest argument being that NASA is hiding something. But really, that's all.

There are many weak points in the book. For one, the writing style can get a little annoying. There are a lot of ten dollar words and a lot of theory being mentioned in the book. I found myself at times not paying attention to the material, and rather wondering if the authors were just showing off their scholarship. I was also annoyed by the frequent use of certain words (primordial, vis-a-vis, etc...) Some standout words were used in way too often. Sometimes they were used up to three times on one page which for some reason I found very annoying. There's also a lot of rambling in the book and I feel as if it could have been much shorter as there are large chunks of pages that only say a few pages worth of ideas. The biggest downfall is the tone of the book. I understand that it's trying to convince readers of a certain side to a point, but I don't find belittling the other side as being productive. The tone of the book is largely that the authors are without a shadow of a doubt correct on everything and everyone else is either ignorant or stupid. The authors are surprisingly closed-minded considering they are essentially creating their own conspiracy theory.

If you're looking for a good read that really makes you think for yourself, then this is a good book. However, be prepared to do some research and perhaps take notes because ideas from early in the book return later in the book with no refresher offered. It is very entertaining, as it brings into light many different ideas such as the Freemason connection to NASA, the Face on Mars, the origin of the Moon landing hoax, etc...Though the book did not convince me of a civilization on Mars, I did learn a lot about both sides of the argument and it was well worth my time.

I do say that this book is not for a casual enthusiast about aliens and/or conspiracies because people like that will lost interest quickly. It's a very in depth, detailed and complex look into this conspiracy. I do recommend it for those that are curious.
