So satisfying
Having always loved the interview style of Studs Terkel, I devoured this book of interviews with real people from every strata. There's something about the intimacy of these one-on-one's with very regular people that gave me a happy & sad-at-the-same-time feeling. Everybody has meaningful stories to tell, not just people in the media.
I love this book!
The Storycorps project is an amazing idea. This is the USA! God Bless us All! This is what we are about---the real people.

It was interesting to hear the stories that others shared. I was expecting longer stories about many topics.

I bought this for my father's 79th birthday. He loved it! He's rationing himself to one story per day to make it last longer. The narratives here are delightful.
Stories You Could Learn From
There is a story for everyone in this book. This book is composed of stories from regular people like you and me, and even if you didn't like all of the book, there has to be at LEAST one story that touched you, or made you laugh, or think or feel SOME emotion. Of course there were some stories that I liked more than others.
What I would have liked to read though was an interview of a person who looked middle-eastern and how they were treated after the 9/11 attacks.
