Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Great for AP World History The 5 Steps to a 5 AP World History book is a great book for this class. I'm a sophomore, so I need all the help I can get. My teacher told us to get this book for the things our regular text book doesn't cover enough. Was great and makes things about AP World History more interesting. Would recommend totally. A nice review book- works great with Princeton This is one of the books that you should get to review for the AP World Exam. The other book that will be really helpful is Princeton Review's guide Will Definately Prepare You I was taking this exam in tenth grade, and needless to say, I was scared. This book practically erased my fears though. It had three practice tests, mini-quizzes throughout each lesson, tips on essay writing and rubrics, and section reviews to essentially teach you everything you need to know about World History from 8000 B.C.E-Present. My favorite part of this book, however, was the helpful charts from five different periods that summarized the political, social, and economical aspect of each world region, as well as changes and continuities. I recommend this book to anyone planning to take the AP exam. A Must Have Review book This AP Review book is certainly a must for all students who need a review book for this course. First off let me start by comparing this book to the others, the Advanced Placement World History course is NOT about memorizing dates and names but rather comparing different civilizations. This book was perfect for going over all the facts needed and stick on all these names and dates that you don't really need to know for the exam. My APWH recommended this book because its a broad overview which is what we needed for this course. I would recommend this book to any APWH student with the advice to purchase it early in the year so you can review the section you are working on in class with the matching one in the book. Great Overview, not enough detail This book is great, especially if you do not no much about World History. This book is, however, very vague in certain parts that are very important. This book alone will not get you a 5 on the exam, hence the title is a bit misleading. The best thing about this book is the convenient charts that sum up important information for each unit. The book hits the key points you need to know, but elaborates only a little on them. Great if you are cramming and trying to pass the exam, but not your best choice if you have studying for a 5. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
