I bought this book but i think it is not suitable for the beginer, you would need to have ahigh level of knowledge of your engine to appreciate it in full .

I wanted a book that focuses on advanced diesel repair and troubleshooting. I got what I was looking for! As well, when you consider the price associated with some of the other books/textbooks dealing with the same subject matter, this publication is a tremendous value.

The content of this book is similar to what was covered during training I received from several automotive and medium/heavy duty truck OEM's. Nothing is sugar coated. You will need to have a foundation with the mechanical trades, math and basic physics to appreciate and understand what the author is trying to convey.

Bravo--A five star effort by Mr Dempsey on all counts.

Received shipment very promptly. The book is very thorough, though in my case I think assumes I know a bit more about diesel mechanics, especially the hardware involved, than I do. Some of the illustrations are too small for all of the minute detail or process diagramming they attempt to convey.
