This book is fantastic in providing a reader friendly introduction to Verbal Behavior. The author uses many descriptors that allows you to picture what she is writing. Verbal Behavior is a great way to teach children with autism, as it determines the "holes" in a child's learning and fills in those "holes". This builds a strong foundation in all areas of development. I have seen great success using VB in my classroom and Barbera's book has been an instrumental part of my implementation.

This book is well organized and it presents Verbal Behavior in a pleasant and accessible manner. It contains useful information on how to start a Verbal Behavior treatment program along with some very useful techniques.

Yet, this book is by far *not* enough. If it's got a drawback, it is this: that it doesn't fully convey that, in order to grasp what a thorough therapy is, some further reading is required.

Highly recommended in addition to other books, such as "Verbal Behavior Analysis" by Douglas Greer.

This book is so informative that I wrote to the author to tell her what a great job she did - and what a service for the community. It's in easy language and VERY helpful to the professional, as well as the parent. I highly recommend it!
