Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Great Insight Learned a lot about my son and his ABILITIES. At the beginning of the year, my 4 year old son's teacher was concerned about him being ready to start Kindergarten. Within a few months, he had progressed to reading on a 2 grade level. He (and I) take great pride in amazing everyone with his extraordinary ability to spell multi-syllable words forwards and backwards, especially those who referred to him as 'out of control' and 'hard to teach'. I can't wait to see how he will progress next year in Kindergarten! Right Brained Children in a Left Brained World This is an easy to read, easy to follow book. It not only talks about the issues that confront a Right Brained Child, but how to work effectively with them. It helps you enhance their strengths, rather than focusing on their weaknesses. It has made a big difference to my son's learning already and we only started some of the techniques 6 weeks ago. Books like this are rarely the answer to your problems, but this one really has helped my son immensely. A must-read for parenting your smart ADD child This is the first book that has made me feel hopeful for my gifted but ADD-troubled son. Most books on the topic are depressing and only offer unrealistic things to do for your child, (would that we could all quit our jobs, go to school with our kid, hire housekeepers & personal shoppers & people to take care of our other kids so we could focus 100% on our ADD child!) This book offers practical, useful information to help your child succeed in school and life. I felt throughout the book that the author really knows exactly what life (and the constant challenge)is like for families with these special children. Now I understand Our daughter was diagnosed as an "extreme visual learner" in October 2008 and with a mild case of ADD in February 2009. After meeting with doctors and psychologists and reading several books, I finally found answers to behavior questions and suggestions for working with her. Thank you so much for writing this book! wonderful book Reading this book helped me immensely. I feel like I can finally understand my 8 year old son. I don't get as frustrated with him since reading this book because I know why he behaves that way. This is a wonderful book that focuses on the positives of ADD children. They might not be ADD, they're just right brained! | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
