Customer Reviews:Average Customer Rating: Great resource... This is a great resource for anyone working in a school system. The book takes you through the detailed process of setting up a behavior education plan in the school, as well as providing sample check-in and check-out sheets, examples of graphing data to determine how well children are doing on the plan, and both how to implement and fade the program. Overall, a very handy guide on implementing a program that really works! Solid school behavior plan! This book appears to be a complete package for developing research-based behavioral interventions in an elementary or middle school. It uses familiar elements, like a behavioral goal sheet and award tickets, but it adds the check-in/check-out procedure for starting and ending the child's day. It also has a parent component, requiring the parent to sign and return the behavior report card everyday. The directions for setting up these interventions are very complete. In addition, this book helps you problem-solve the potential pitfalls of these interventions, and shows you how to add a more formal functional behavior assessment to help adjust the plan for children who do not respond well. I cannot say "it works", as I just purchased the book, but having considerable experience in designing similar behavior plans, I predict good results. Responding to Problem Behavior in Schools: the Behavior Education Program this is a wonerful book for educators! It very specifically tells you how to set up a "check-in, Check-out" program for students who have some challenging behaviors. It offers a program for those students who value adult attention. It has worked wonderfully with a number of students in elementary school. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
