The First Year Teacher's Guide The product is a very helpful book about suggestions for young teachers on getting started in teaching. It has very accurate descriptions in simple terms. It a great book! Brilliant review book! This book is wonderful, each checklist is very wholesome, down-to-earth, and time-saving in every sense. I especially appreciated the last pages, in which Thompson describes a few things about new teaching theories basics and those laws to pay close attention to. Perfect for brand new teachers, teacher aspirants and the like. And I can't see why an experienced teacher wouldn't benefit from this book too, since it's never bad to get those little reminders! The First Year Teacher's Checklist I am a resource person for many teachers and I use this book as a wonderful reference for new, skilled and master teachers. The First-Year Teacher's Checklist:... IS a quick reference for classroom success. Most teachers could benefit from fresh ideas on classroom management, diversified learners, being a respected member of a teaching staff and a multitude of other topics. This book delivers it all and Amazon provided for a very modest price! Thanks, Amazon! Lots of good ideas! As a first year teacher, I have lots of training, but little experience. Let's say that I was having trouble "redirecting students who are off task." Off the top of my head, I can come up with a few ideas. Paging through notes from my methods classes, I can find a couple more. Well, I turn to page 94 of THE FIRST-YEAR TEACHER'S CHECKLIST, and find a list of two dozen ideas. Am I going to use each one? No. But, it would have taken years for me to think of all of these. It really is a great reference for any teacher who really wants to reflect on their own teaching and push themselves to try new things. | | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
