A teacher's look
Customer Rating:
Very good information with a lot of helpful hints by grade level. Too scripted for the whole day. So, I take the pieces I find useful for my classroom. I enjoy morning meetings, and my students seem to, also. I have 30 5th graders. I have never used "morning meetings" before, but have felt a need to "ground" my students in the morning, so we made sure the schoolwide schedule allowed students to spend at least the first 30 minutes in their own classroom so they can feel a real part of the group. The past few years, many students were pulled right away for Special Education or English Language groups. Again, I am really enjoying Morning Meetings!

New ideas to add to old ones!
Customer Rating:
This book is great! It's June and school is out in a few days so I haven't read it completely from front to back. But what I have read has made me super excited to try some of the strategies during the first weeks back to school!
Good suggestions for new and experienced teachers
Customer Rating:
Two weeks in to my 8th year of teaching, and I am using many ideas from this book. It really helps set a positive tone and reminds the teacher to spend the first few weeks modeling desired outcomes with the help from the students. Although I am not folowing it to a tee, the book is set up with down to the minute lessons plans, which could really be a bonus for a new teacher. I think this book would be helpful for both a new and experienced teacher!
A true winner
