The information in this book will change your life as a teacher. I had the great honor of hearing Jim Fay on two separate occasions, and the insight he has is so critical to a successful teacher-student relationship. He also has wonderful advice about parents. I review it often. Thanks so much! I have taught for 24 years, and I learned things I so wish I had known years before. Empowering Students to Take Responsibility for Their Actions Customer Rating: I have been teaching for 35 years. But I feel I've learned a lot from the Love and Logic series for the classroom. Since using the love and logic techniques in my class, I find I am less tired at the end of the day. I don't get frustrated and raise my voice with my students when they make poor choices. I just put their decision back on them, and give them choices. And then I follow through with the consequences. Love and Logic techniques let the student make the choices. They feel empowered, and are less likely to get into power struggles with the teachers. I would recommend this book for new teachers and experienced teachers. It has something that all of us can find helpful in our effort to help our students be more responsible citizens. Awesome!
